Administrative Meetings and Presentations ‑ Microsoft Teams


As a faculty or staff member, you can use Microsoft Teams to conduct online meetings with your department or team or hold live streaming events for larger audiences.

Microsoft Teams is available through Office 365 to every Dalhousie student, faculty, or staff member at no charge. It is available through a desktop client, mobile device app, or any web browser.

Microsoft Teams meetings can:

  • Support up to 300 guests per session (with ability to turn on mic and webcam), and up to 1,000 guests (with limited access to mics and webcams).
  • Permit screen sharing by one or more users.
  • Provide in-session chat features for Q&As.

Microsoft Teams Live Events can:

  • Support up to 10,000 users per session.
  • Provide viewing-only access for all attendees.
  • Provide in-session chat features for Q&As.
  • This platform requires a dedicated video feeds producer and Q&A manager.
  • Email support@dal.ca to arrange a Teams Live Event set up and training. This is recommended at least two weeks prior to your Teams Live Event date.
