Library space for group work

Group Study Rooms provide library space in central locations for Dalhousie students to hold small group discussions.

  • Capacity: Rooms hold up to six people at the Killam, up to 15 at the Kellogg, up to 10 at Law, up to 4 at Sexton and up to 12 at MacRae. You must have a group of at least three to book a room.
  • Internet: Wireless access is also available in most locations.
  • Equipment: Most rooms have a whiteboard available for use. Workstations and laptop display screens are available in select locations. Check the booking system for details. 
  • Noise: Group study rooms are not soundproof. Consideration should be given to others nearby.  

Booking study rooms

Study rooms are for current Dalhousie students only. You need a valid Dalhousie NetId and password to access the room booking system.*

  • Reserve study rooms up to a week in advance online.
  • Sessions are booked in 30-minute time slots to a maximum of two hours per person per day. At the Killam Library, the Sexton Library and the MacRae Library, only one booking per person, per day is permitted.  
  • Confirm bookings at the Killam Help Desk or Kellogg Circulation Desk (CHEB), Sexton Service Desk, Wallace McCain Learning Commons Help desk and MacRae Library Circulation Desk when you arrive.
  • At the MacRae Library and the Sexton Library, the person who booked the room must pick up the room key and present their student ID at the Circulation Desk.
  • If you are 15 minutes late, your booking will be cancelled.
