About our environmental and sustainability archives
Records pertaining to environmental issues are of increasing interest to both scholarly researchers and activists. The University Archives is building an environment and sustainability archives that includes materials ranging from the archives of the Ecology Action Centre, an internationally recognized organization that has been active in Nova Scotia since 1971, to the websites, email correspondence, and fish research data created by Ransom Myers, a world-renowned marine biologist and mathematician.
Our collections are especially strong in environmental policy. For example, the Elisabeth Mann Borgese fonds contains a wealth of material illuminating Borgese's work on the international law of the sea, and the Seafood Producers Association of Nova Scotia fonds includes extensive records regarding government regulations and the effect of pollution on the fishing industry.
