Ensure Effectiveness of Online Learning Community

 

Two online surveys were conducted of faculty and students who participated in the pilot implementation of the new Brightspace Learning Management System from 2015-2016. Additionally, the project team held needs assessment sessions with faculty and staff at academic units on all four campuses.

Insights from these surveys and focus groups strongly influenced:

  • how Brightspace was structured, including navigation elements and the overall user experience
  • the development of support materials aimed at providing quick access to help with the most common tasks
  • the development of a comprehensive faculty and staff training program
