Loan Renewals
Keep what you've borrowed a little longer
Borrowed books and other materials may be renewed, provided they are not on hold for another patron or have not been billed as lost.
How to renew library materials
- Ask at the circulation desk of any Novanet library or
- Use Novanet to renew materials.
Maximum number of renewals
- Kellogg and Law: 2
- Killam and Sexton: 3
Using Novanet to renew loans
- Go to the Novanet
- Click Login:
- Enter your library barcode (this is the 14 digit number at the bottom of your Dalhousie student card)
- Password is the last 4 digits of your phone number or a pincode.
- My Library Account appears in the navigation when you successfully login.
- Click My Library Account to access your own record
- Click Holds/Renewals under Account Overview
- Click number of item to be renewed and a Details for Loan screen will appear.
- Click Renew:
- If renewal is successful the screen will revert to the Items on Loan page with the renewed date shown in the list of loans.
- If the renewal is unsuccessful a reason will be given in the Details for Loan screen.
