Learning Commons combine information resources with the latest technology to provide students, faculty and staff a quality space to work in.

Workstations and software

There are 3 main types of workstations available using the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system:

Express

• Available for public use.
• Internet access to allow searching of the Novanet catalogue and library databases.
• Available in all Learning Commons locations.

Scholar

• Accessible only to current Dalhousie students, staff and faculty members.
• Variety of software, including: Microsoft Office 2010, Solid Edge, ArcGIS, and Minitab.
• Available in all Learning Commons locations.

Multimedia

• Accessible only to current Dalhousie students, staff and faculty members.
• Variety of software, including: Microsoft Office 2010, Solid Edge, ArcGIS, and Minitab.
• Adobe Creative Suite 3 is installed as well as a flatbed scanner at each machine.
• Only available at the Killam Learning Commons.
