Special/Rare book collections
- Cobb Postcard Collection
At the turn of the 20th century, postcards were a critical component of the architect’s library. Andrew Cobb, 1876-1943, was a renowned Canadian architect who taught in our school and who also designed many of the stone buildings on the main Dalhousie campus. Cobb collected over 5,000 postcards depicting architecture of Europe and North America. These cards, which are an important chronicle of period images, are owned by the Sexton Library and are available for research by appointment.
- Rare books
Our Rare Book collection specializes in classic works of architecture and engineering. All of our rare books are listed in the Novanet catalogue. Items are available for use by appointment.
